The revamp of Good Vibes marked a critical juncture in the app's life cycle. With a new logo and the introduction of the charming mascot, Mellow the purple rabbit, we aimed to rejuvenate the app's image. The rebranding initiative was motivated by the need to evolve while staying true to the core essence of Good Vibes. Our goal was not only to attract new users but also to retain and engage the existing ones in a more meaningful and refreshing way.

  • Reviewed the feedback provided by users within the app

  • Delved into app store reviews, studying the comments and ratings provided by users on both platforms.

  • Discussions with co-workers, sought their perspectives and experiences, providing additional qualitative data to enrich the understanding.

  • Lengthy and unclear onboarding led to higher new user drop-offs.

  • A less user-friendly sign-up process resulted in lower conversion rates.

  • Absence of dark mode caused discomfort during nighttime use.

  • Lack of structured journey led to lower user engagement.

  • Difficulties in finding content affected overall satisfaction.

Crafting Ideas

During the ideation phase, our team collaborated to devise transformative solutions for the challenges uncovered in the "Discover" phase. Notable ideas emerged, such as:

  • Identified the need for an improved onboarding process, enhancing the initial user experience. A less user-friendly sign-up process resulted in lower conversion rates.

  • Introduced dark mode to enhance the app's well-being mission .

  • Decided to improve the search function by integrating Algolia search to optimize content discovery, offering fast and accurate search.

  • Added "Sessions" feature which includes multiple exercises, users could unlock subsequent activities on a daily basis, keeping them engaged and providing an incentive to return each day.
